Silvia Munoz Vasquez, a 35-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically died on October 31, 2016, in Houston, TX. She was shot by her husband, Rogelio Flores, who was a former state police commander from Mexico. The couple had a history of loud arguments, but there was no known record of physical violence prior to the incident.
Rogelio Flores was arrested shortly after the murder. He called his brother and confessed to shooting his wife, then fled with their 12-year-old son to Mexico.
