On January 20, 2004, in Houston, Texas, 34-year-old Keshia Joseph, an African American woman, was tragically shot to death by her ex-boyfriend, 28-year-old Timothy L. Robertson. In a devastating act of violence, Robertson also killed Keshia's mother, Patricia. At the time of the shootings, Keshia's 11-year-old daughter was present in the home but managed to escape unharmed.
