On the evening of February 5, 2025, Waco, Texas, experienced its first homicide of the year when 34-year-old African American male, Keith Cobb II, was fatally shot. At approximately 7:15 p.m., Waco Police responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Ozark Drive and Howard Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Cobb with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. This incident marked Waco's first homicide in seven months.
