In the late hours of a Friday night in Virginia Beach, a seemingly routine traffic stop escalated into a tragic event that claimed the lives of two police officers, including 25-year-old Cameron Girvin. On February 21, 2025, Officer Girvin and his partner, Officer Christopher Reese, pulled over a vehicle for an expired license plate. The driver, identified as 42-year-old John McCoy III, became confrontational and initially refused to exit his car.
