Following the shooting on Hillmont Terrace, a wounded Nicolas attempted to flee the scene. He was later discovered unresponsive in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked outside a Harris Teeter grocery store on Southern Walk Plaza. At the time of the incident, Mohamed was reportedly out on a $1,000 unsecured bond for a prior, unrelated offense. A second suspect, a juvenile male, was arrested a few days later on April 16, 2025. He has been charged with first-degree murder as a principal in the second degree, suggesting he was present and involved in the crime but not the primary shooter. Due to his age, his identity has not been publicly released, and he is being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center while Mohamed is at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, held without bond.
