On April 17, 2025, Aimee Leanne Frick, a 52-year-old white female, was tragically killed in a double homicide at her residence on Canyon Street in Borger, Texas. Her husband, 46-year-old Steven Michael Frick, also lost his life in the incident. Both victims were found deceased from gunshot wounds following a 911 call reporting a possible home invasion and shooting at approximately 12:24 a.m.
The suspect, a teenage male believed to be a member of the household, was arrested at the scene. Due to his status as a juvenile, authorities have not released his name or age. He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of homicide, subsequently being transported to a juvenile detention facility in Randall County. Investigators, including the Borger Police Department and the Texas Rangers, secured a search warrant and processed the scene, collecting physical evidence and conducting interviews. The motive behind the shooting has not been publicly disclosed.
Aimee Leanne Frick was born on August 28, 1972, in Taylor, Texas, to Ronald "Ron" Lee Davenport and Cynthia Ann Roberts Davenport. She married Steven Frick on October 18, 2003, in Borger. Aimee was known for her love of family, boating, shopping, and reading. She was affectionately called "Mamie" by many. She is survived by her daughter, Laynie Frick; her father, Ron Davenport; and her three sisters, Tami Brown, Ronda Davis, and Erin Woolf.
The community has been deeply affected by the loss of Aimee and Steven Frick. A GoFundMe campaign was organized to support the Frick family during this difficult time, reflecting the outpouring of support and condolences from friends, family, and neighbors.
