In the quiet Ponds subdivision in Summerville, South Carolina, the night of February 25, 2025, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Deangelo M. Dover Jr., a 17-year-old Black male, was fatally shot. Neighbors reported hearing approximately five shots from what sounded like two different weapons. Responding to the scene in the 200 block of Oak View Way, Dorchester County Sheriff's deputies discovered the young man's body in the middle of the road.
