In the quiet town of Mount Carmel, Tennessee, a domestic altercation on March 1, 2025, ended in the tragic death of 36-year-old Joshua Britton Fann. Responding to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of Independence Avenue shortly after noon, officers from the Mount Carmel Police Department and the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office discovered Fann with a gunshot wound.
