Alvis Jamelle Allen, a 39-year-old African American man from Norlina, North Carolina, was found dead on the morning of January 28, 2025, near the parking lot of the basketball court at Magnolia Ernest Recreation Park in Soul City, North Carolina. Authorities reported that he had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
