On May 4, 2025, at approximately 6:41 a.m., officers from the Austin Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 5700 block of Hammermill Run in Austin, Texas. Upon arrival, they discovered 15-year-old Neithan Jadiel Montenegro, a Hispanic male, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, Neithan Jadiel Montenegro was pronounced deceased at the scene at 7:08 a.m.
