On the evening of February 4, 2025, a tragic mass shooting occurred at the KDC/ONE cosmetics manufacturing facility in New Albany, Ohio. Among the victims was 38-year-old Kyle Vaver, a white male from Pickerington, Ohio. Vaver, an employee at the facility, was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene at 10:22 p.m. The Licking County Coroner's Office confirmed that he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
The suspected shooter, 28-year-old Bruce Reginald Foster III, also an employee at KDC/ONE, allegedly opened fire inside the warehouse, killing Vaver and another employee, 30-year-old Shekhar Chapagai, and injuring four others. Foster reportedly fled the scene using a rideshare service and was apprehended approximately 12 hours later at an apartment near the Ohio State University campus in Columbus. During the arrest, U.S. Marshals used a stun gun to subdue him after he refused to comply with commands.
Foster has been charged with aggravated murder and is being held on a $20 million bond. His next court hearing is scheduled for February 13, 2025. Investigators have indicated that the shooting appeared to be a targeted attack, though a clear motive has not been established.
