NyAsia Blue, a 19-year-old African American woman from Hope Mills, North Carolina, tragically lost her life in a drive-by shooting on March 11, 2025. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning at her home on Jockey Whip Lane, where multiple rounds were fired into the residence. Blue, an assistant teacher at Ms. Jo’s Child Care in Parkton, was asleep when the gunfire erupted, and she was fatally struck.
Authorities arrived at the scene to find her with a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The shooting has left the Hope Mills community in mourning, as Blue was known for her kindness and dedication to her work with children. Friends and family have described her as a warm and caring individual with a bright future ahead. In response to her untimely death, an online fundraiser was launched to cover funeral expenses, as Blue did not have life insurance.
Law enforcement officials have stated that the shooting does not appear to have been random.
