On January 6, 2025, at approximately 10:49 AM, the New Rochelle Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Heritage Homes Complex on Rhoda Quash Lane. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old David Smith, a male resident of Mount Vernon, New York, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. Emergency medical aid was immediately administered, and Smith was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
