On March 29, 2025, 31-year-old William Evander Cummings V, an African American male from Cleveland, Ohio, was found unresponsive but breathing in a vehicle that had crashed at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and West 6th Street in Lorain, Ohio. Initially believed to have suffered a head injury from the crash, further examination revealed a gunshot wound on the right side of his head.
