Michaela Carpenter, a 29-year-old African American woman, was found deceased in her Dayton, Ohio home on March 31, 2025. Her body was discovered by a relative who had not heard from her for several days. Upon arrival, authorities found her two-year-old daughter unharmed but alone in the residence. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office confirmed that Michaela Carpenter died from a gunshot wound, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
