In the quiet, remote landscape outside of Granite, Oklahoma, a grim discovery was made late on a Sunday evening in January. In a country home, law enforcement found the bodies of 42-year-old Christine Danielle Kirtley and 40-year-old Ryan David Nalley. Both had been fatally shot in what was quickly determined to be a double homicide. The investigation began after a 911 call was made from the residence just after 10:00 p.m.
on January 19, 2025, though the dispatcher could not hear a voice on the line.
When Greer County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home located near East County Road 1350 and Old State Highway 6, they found the door appeared to have been broken in. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Kirtley and Nalley. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was called in to lead the investigation into the double homicide. Initially, investigators looked into Kirtley's estranged husband, but he was quickly ruled out as a suspect as he had a solid alibi, being 120 miles away at the time of the murders.
The investigation took a significant turn when the OSBI announced that a suspect had been identified. However, this individual was also found deceased, bringing an end to the immediate search for a perpetrator and leading authorities to state that there was no further threat to the public. Multiple sources later confirmed that the suspect was 44-year-old Dennis Wade Campbell, who had died by suicide. With the deaths of both the victims and the identified suspect, the community was left to mourn the tragic loss of Christine Kirtley and Ryan Nalley.
