On a tragic Saturday, March 8, 2025, the life of 45-year-old Amie Delane Maxwell was cut short in Oktaha, Oklahoma. A female, she was fatally shot at her place of employment, Five Star Recycling. When Muskogee County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the scene around 6 p.m., they discovered two women with gunshot wounds. Despite first aid being rendered, Maxwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, Kimberly Clay, was treated by emergency medical services and subsequently released.
The investigation swiftly pointed to 26-year-old Aaron Wilson-Bogar as the suspect in the shooting. Later that same evening, Muscogee Nation Lighthorse Police officers located Wilson-Bogar in Muskogee and attempted a traffic stop. This initiated a vehicle pursuit that concluded at the intersection of North 5th Street and West Martin Luther King Street. At this point, Wilson-Bogar fired at the officers, who returned fire and wounded him. He was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and is now in stable condition. No officers were injured during the confrontation.
Following his release from the hospital, Aaron Wilson-Bogar was booked into the Muskogee County Detention Center. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has taken over the investigation into the officer-involved shooting aspect of the case. The homicide investigation into the death of Amie Maxwell is also ongoing.
Amie, born on March 6, 1980, was a mother of two and a grandmother. She had dedicated much of her adult life to the healthcare industry and was employed as a Sterile Processor at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center. She was remembered as someone who enjoyed life, spending her free time with her granddaughter, friends, and family.
