In the quiet streets of Buffalo, New York, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of 41-year-old Shane Jackson. On the evening of March 30, 2025, Jackson, a Black male, was found inside a vehicle on Cambridge Avenue, the victim of a targeted shooting. The initial discovery was made by officers responding to what appeared to be a car accident around 7:30 p.m.
The car had crashed into a tree, but the scene held a more grim reality.
Inside the vehicle with Jackson was another young man, 22-year-old Marwan Ayash of Cheektowaga. Both men had sustained gunshot wounds. While Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, Ayash was rushed to Erie County Medical Center, where he too succumbed to his injuries. The incident was quickly determined to be a double homicide, a deliberate act of violence that shook the local community.
