On May 8, 2025, Prophet A. Thomas-Applin, a 19-year-old Black male, was found deceased from a gunshot wound in front of a residence on the 4800 block of Manitoba Road in northeast Columbus, Ohio. Columbus police officers responded to a report of an unresponsive male at approximately 5:17 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, who had been shot prior to midnight on May 7. Columbus Fire medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 5:26 a.m.
