On the evening of May 10, 2025, Columbus Police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of Briarwood Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim, Matthew Selman, a 43-year-old White male, unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Columbus Fire medics arrived shortly after and pronounced him deceased at 10:50 PM.
