On April 29, 2025, Reina Magalybantes Castro, a Hispanic woman, was found deceased at the rear of a property on Lancaster Store Road in Spring Hope, North Carolina. Nash County deputies responded to a disturbance call reporting possible gunshots around 1:50 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Ms. Castro unresponsive, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Another individual, a man, was also injured in the incident.
