In the city of New Brunswick, New Jersey, a life was tragically cut short on the evening of March 31, 2025. Brandon Romero Peralta, a 16-year-old male, became the victim of gun violence in an incident that unfolded near the intersection of Lee Avenue and Rutgers Street. The New Brunswick Police Department received a report of a shooting at approximately 6:26 P.M.
and upon arrival at the scene, they discovered the young man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Brandon to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for medical treatment. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The untimely death of the New Brunswick teenager prompted an investigation led by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with the local police department.
In the wake of the shooting, authorities launched a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for Brandon's death. Their efforts led to the identification of two juvenile suspects. A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were subsequently charged with juvenile delinquency for their alleged involvement in the fatal shooting. The older of the two suspects was taken into custody and is being held at the Middlesex County Juvenile Center.
