On January 6, 2025, Baton Rouge Police responded to a fatal shooting involving 30-year-old Leonard Browder. Officers were initially alerted to a single-car motor vehicle accident around 4:00 p.m. on Shelley Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Browder lying in a nearby field, having sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency aid was rendered, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
