On the evening of Friday, March 28, 2025, a fatal encounter in the Pendleton Heights neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, claimed the life of 53-year-old Chad Michael Doberstein. A white male, Doberstein was discovered by Kansas City Police Department officers lying in the roadway in the 400 block of Park Avenue around 8:30 p.m., suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate life-saving efforts of the officers and emergency medical personnel who arrived at the scene, his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.

He had previously resided in Denver, Colorado, for thirty years before moving to Warsaw, Missouri, in 2011. Known as a devout Christian, he was passionate about sharing his faith. He is survived by his mother, two daughters, and a sister. Law enforcement has urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact the Homicide detectives or the TIPS Hotline, with a substantial reward offered for information that leads to an arrest.
