Death by Force

On April 22, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a.m., 16-year-old African American male Ja'Mad Cortez Edwards was fatally shot in the Tower Grove East neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Responding to reports of gunfire in the 2800 block of Minnesota Avenue, police officers discovered Ja'Mad lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
