On the night of April 13, 2025, at approximately 11:13 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a distress call reporting a shooting at the intersection of Carol Street and Edwards Avenue in Tunica County, Mississippi. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 18-year-old Makenzie Kaleb Thomas, a Black male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
