In the early morning hours of May 1, 2025, the life of 25-year-old Justin Woods, an African American male, was tragically cut short in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. At approximately 2:45 a.m., the sound of gunfire prompted a response from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to the intersection of Washington Avenue and North Sarah Street.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Woods lying in the 600 block of North Sarah Street, having sustained
multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. Woods was a resident of the 4000 block of Cook Avenue in St. Louis.
The circumstances that led to the fatal shooting remain unclear, and authorities have not released any information regarding a potential motive.
