On the evening of March 1, 2025, Norman Evans Jr., a middle-aged African American man residing in Springhill, Louisiana, was fatally shot in what authorities have described as a retaliatory act of violence. Evans was in his home on 3rd Street SE, reportedly watching television, when a bullet struck him in the head, leading to his death.
