In the late summer of 2026, the life of 21-year-old Al Jewel Myles III came to a tragic end in Springhill, Louisiana. On August 13th, Myles was found deceased from a gunshot wound inside a residence at the Camelot Apartments. Authorities who arrived at the scene discovered Myles with a Glock 9mm handgun still in his hand, along with an empty shell casing and a spent round. Based on the initial evidence at the scene, law enforcement officials determined that Myles had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This conclusion was later supported by an autopsy report.

Just hours before his death, Myles had traveled to Springhill from the Shreveport-Bossier area with 19-year-old Jaden Eugene Hill. The two were at the apartment of a woman named Jerrica Brown when the fatal shot was fired. According to an account attributed to Brown, she was in her room when she heard a gunshot. Hill then allegedly ran into her room and stated that Myles had shot himself before he fled the apartment. The Springhill Police Department was called to the scene where they found Myles deceased.

While the official ruling pointed to suicide, Al Jewel Myles III's mother, Melissa Robinson, publicly disputed this finding, insisting that her son did not take his own life. Robinson stated that she wanted "full justice" for her son and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his death. She alleged that after the shooting, Jaden Hill left the scene with her son's cell phone, a weapon, and his wallet. A few days after Myles' death, on August 18, Jaden Eugene Hill was arrested by Bossier City Police on a warrant from the Springhill Police Department. However, this arrest was not in connection with Myles' death. Instead, Hill was charged with illegal use of a weapon during a crime of violence stemming from a separate shooting incident that occurred in July at the same apartment complex where Myles died. The case of Al Jewel Myles III's death is officially considered a suicide, but the vocal doubts of his family and the arrest of the individual who was with him at the time of his death on unrelated weapons charges have left a cloud of unanswered questions for some.
