Joshua Carter, a 36-year-old man from Gretna, Louisiana, was fatally shot on March 1, 2025. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Stafford Street, where officers from the Gretna Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered Carter lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest. Emergency medical personnel provided treatment at the scene before transporting him to University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
