On April 24, 2025, the quiet town of Drew, Mississippi, was rocked by a devastating triple homicide that claimed the lives of 18-year-old Bromeisha Sims, her 19-year-old sister Kamaya Sims, and their 40-year-old mother, Aquilla Latique Wallace. The three African American women were discovered deceased inside their home on Joseph Street, leaving the close-knit community in a state of shock and mourning.
The investigation into the tragic deaths quickly led law enforcement to the nearby community of Rome. A foot chase ensued after three suspects were located. During the pursuit, one of the suspects died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being surrounded by officers. He was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The remaining two suspects were apprehended by authorities.
While authorities have not publicly released the identities of all the suspects, it was confirmed that all three were known to the victims.
