In the winter of 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan, the life of 33-year-old Domonique C. Watson was brought to a tragic and violent end. On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 26th, police were called to her home at 2615 Maplewood Ave after reports of gunfire. Inside, they discovered Ms. Watson, who had succumbed to at least one gunshot wound.
Also present at the scene was a 60-year-old male who was found with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators quickly deemed the incident to be a domestic-related homicide.
Family members, including Domonique's mother, LaMonique Cooper, identified the injured man as her husband and alleged that he was responsible for her death. While police have not officially confirmed the relationship, they have acknowledged the domestic nature of the tragic event. Some reports have suggested that while the two shared children, they may not have been legally married. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.
Domonique was remembered as a loving mother to her three children, a daughter, and two sons. She was described as a beautiful, smart, and devoted mother who cherished spending time with her family. A faithful member of her church, she was actively involved as an Announcement Clerk. Having attended Delta College, she had become a real estate entrepreneur. Her sudden death left her family and community in mourning.
