In the late afternoon of March 15, 2025, the life of Anthony Perry Mosley, a 20-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore. At approximately 4:51 p.m., the sound of gunfire prompted a ShotSpotter alert in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood, directing Western District patrol officers to the 1400 block of School Street.
As they canvased the area, they discovered the young man in the nearby 1500 block of North Stricker Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported Mosley to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident marked another grim entry in the city's struggle with gun violence, occurring on a day that saw another fatal shooting in Baltimore.
In the wake of the shooting, homicide detectives from the Baltimore Police Department launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Anthony Perry Mosley's death.
