On a Friday morning in Riverdale, Maryland, a grim discovery was made that would set in motion a homicide investigation. On April 11, 2025, at approximately 10:05 a.m., police officers responded to a call about an unresponsive person in the 6600 block of Riverdale Road. Inside a stairwell of a building, they found 58-year-old Adeyemi Martin of New Carrollton, a male who had sustained gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Martin's death. While a definitive motive remains under investigation, detectives believe the fatal shooting may have occurred during an attempted robbery. To aid in their investigation, authorities have released surveillance footage to the public. The video shows a suspect's dark-colored sedan leaving the scene of the murder. Additionally, still photos of the suspect have been circulated, some showing him wearing a coat and others without it, revealing a struggle may have taken place with the victim.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Adeyemi Martin. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to identify the suspect. A substantial reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case. Law enforcement is urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward and assist in bringing closure to this case.
