On a Friday morning in Riverdale, Maryland, a grim discovery was made that would set in motion a homicide investigation. On April 11, 2025, at approximately 10:05 a.m., police officers responded to a call about an unresponsive person in the 6600 block of Riverdale Road. Inside a stairwell of a building, they found 58-year-old Adeyemi Martin of New Carrollton, a male who had sustained gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
