Tyshawn Johnson, a 17-year-old African American male, was found shot to death in an alley in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood on the night of January 14, 2025. Initially misidentified as a 21-year-old man, Johnson was later confirmed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as the victim. The tragic incident unfolded when police responded to reports of a vehicle crash in an alley near the 5400 block of North Ashland Avenue.
