On the final night of 2024, a violent incident unfolded in the Chickasaw neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, claiming the life of a young man just moments before the new year began. Michael Lamont Bass II, a 21-year-old Black male, was outside the "No Haterz Motorcycle Club" located at 1120 South 36th Street when gunfire erupted. The shooting occurred just before midnight on December 31, casting a shadow over the New Year's Eve celebrations in the area.
