On the evening of January 14, 2025, officers from the Statesboro Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at Pinewood Manor on Packinghouse Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Nasir Johnson, an African American male, deceased from gunshot wounds. Two other victims, both 16-year-old males, had also sustained gunshot injuries.
