In the early morning hours of a Friday in Lexington, Kentucky, the life of 24-year-old Elmer Joseph Eldridge was tragically cut short. A shooting occurred around 5:50 a.m. on the 300 block of Newtown Pike, leaving Mr. Eldridge with fatal injuries. He was quickly transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 6:26 a.m. His death marked the sixth homicide of the year in the city.
