In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 44-year-old Isaiah C. White was tragically cut short. On May 4, 2025, just before 3 a.m., authorities responded to a report of a shooting on Dixie Highway near West Hill Street in the Algonquin neighborhood. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered White inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that after being shot, White's vehicle crashed into a nearby medical office in the 1600 block of Dixie Highway. The investigation into his death quickly led to a person of interest. Surveillance video played a crucial role, showing another vehicle following White's car into a parking lot where detectives later discovered four spent shell casings. This evidence, combined with a recorded statement from the suspect placing himself at the scene, led to an arrest the following day.

Louisville Metro Police arrested 48-year-old Jack Elliott and charged him with White's murder. During a court appearance, a judge set Elliott's bond at $500,000, calling him a 'danger to the community.' While an arrest has been made, the motive for the shooting remains unclear.

In the wake of his sudden and violent death, friends and family gathered to remember Isaiah, who was also known as 'Courtney'. They described him as someone who wasn't a bother to anyone and liked to joke a lot. A memorial grew at the site of the crash as his loved ones sought answers and justice, decrying the senseless act of gun violence that took his life. He is survived by his mother, sister, a lifelong companion, and a son.
