Just before midnight on March 9, 2025, a call of shots fired drew officers to the 7600 block of South Langley Avenue on Chicago's South Side.

There, police found Keymani A. Davis, a 25-year-old Black male, shot multiple times on the street near 76th and Langley.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where the 25-year-old male was pronounced dead, his name was formally released as Keymani A. Davis in the hours that followed.
