Death by Force

Carl Powell Jr., a 44-year-old man from Bakersfield, California, was fatally shot on February 22, 2025. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Lotus Lane at approximately 12:50 p.m. Emergency responders transported Powell to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced dead. The Bakersfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit launched an investigation into the shooting.
