Demond Xavier Rufus, a 22-year-old resident of Bakersfield, California, tragically lost his life in a shooting incident on August 14, 2021. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on South Haley Street. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation around 4:15 a.m., where they found Rufus with gunshot wounds.
