On July 27, 2024, at approximately 12:18 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Southwest Division responded to reports of a shooting near the Metro K Line Station in Leimert Park, located at 4330 S. Crenshaw Blvd. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Brandon Buchanan of Bellflower suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including injuries to the head.
