On the evening of February 24, 2025, Victoria Williams, a 31-year-old Black female, was fatally shot in the Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Vermont and Manchester avenues. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of gunfire and found Victoria Williams suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
She was transported to a nearby hospital by Los Angeles City Fire personnel, where she was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the manner of death was homicide, with the cause being a gunshot wound to the torso. The case was assigned the number 2025-03628.
At the time of the shooting, Victoria Williams was attending a candlelight vigil for a separate fatal shooting that had occurred nearly 24 hours earlier at the same location. During the incident, a man was also shot in the foot and received medical treatment. The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived and was last seen behind the shooting location, either walking or running away. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.
