On March 3, 2025, Chaddric Loray, a 52-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in Pompano Beach, Florida. The incident occurred around 4:42 a.m. near the 700 block of Northwest Ninth Avenue. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire and found Loray lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel.
Investigators determined that the suspect, 29-year-old Deshawn Tyres Allen of Boca Raton, had been involved in a dispute with Loray earlier that evening. Allen believed that Loray was 'talking to his girlfriend,' which led to a confrontation at the apartment complex where Allen and his girlfriend resided. According to reports, during this altercation, Loray allegedly pulled a gun on Allen, though no injuries were reported at that time.
Following the initial dispute, Allen reportedly followed Loray and his girlfriend to the Pompano Beach Casino. After they left the casino, Allen continued to follow them as Loray was dropping off the woman at her residence on Ninth Avenue. It was at this location that Allen exited his vehicle and shot Loray multiple times before fleeing the scene. Surveillance footage captured a work truck with a distinctive paint job at the scene, which was later identified as belonging to Allen's employer. The employer confirmed that Allen had access to the vehicle.
Allen was arrested later that day and charged with first-degree premeditated murder. He is currently being held without bond at the Broward Main Jail. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
