On March 2, 2025, 19-year-old Davonye Cummings was tragically killed in Oakland, California. The incident occurred at an apartment on the 2600 block of 74th Avenue, where Cummings was shot in the neck shortly after 8 a.m. Authorities were alerted to the crime when the suspect’s mother called 911, reporting a disturbing phone call from her son. The suspect, 32-year-old Terrence Miles, allegedly told his mother, “Mom help! I shot her,” followed by, “I didn’t mean to.”
