On May 1, 2025, 21-year-old Aundre Johnson, a Black male from Indianapolis, Indiana, was found shot to death inside his SUV at the Waterfront Pointe Apartments on the city's west side. Authorities were initially dispatched to the 2900 block of Rolling Dunes Drive following reports of a car accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered Johnson slumped over the steering wheel, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
