Ethan Austin, a 19-year-old male from Rockford, Illinois, tragically lost his life on May 9, 2025, as a result of a gunshot wound. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 12:20 a.m., during a violent altercation in the parking lot of Broadway Food & Liquor, located at 2710 Broadway. Following the shooting, Austin was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle, where he received medical attention. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 12:47 a.m.
