In the early morning of April 15, 2025, the life of 30-year-old Shalileha Alford, a Black/African American woman, was tragically cut short at a Studio 6 motel in Tucker, Georgia. Responding to reports of gunfire at approximately 7:45 a.m., DeKalb County police discovered Alford suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was urgently transported to a local hospital, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The initial investigation suggested the shooting began inside a motel room and may have continued outside. Authorities promptly launched an investigation, reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence at the scene. Their efforts quickly led them to a suspect, 37-year-old Antonio Watson.
A few days later, on April 18, 2025, Antonio Watson was arrested and charged with malice murder in connection with Shalileha Alford's death. At the time of his arrest, the motive for the shooting and the nature of the relationship, if any, between Watson and Alford remained unknown to the public as the investigation continued.
