Lance Cpl. Riley S. Kuznia, a 20-year-old Marine from Karlstad, Minnesota, tragically died on January 1, 2019, at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. when Kuznia was shot in what appeared to be a negligent discharge of a firearm. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, Kuznia succumbed to his injuries.
